Trucks + Hopper = Trouble is the eleventh episode of Dodger the Coal Mines Engine.
Donald arrived one morning at Vicarstown Coal Mines. Normally, he would've expected to see Dodger loading his trucks, or emerging from his shed, but this time, he was no where to be seen.
"Och! Where are ya little, dirty, grubbe' engine?" he whistled.
But, he saw a load of coal trucks waiting for him under the hopper.
"Och, I guess that's my trrain."
"Surprise!" Dodger shouted.
The trucks giggled, and burst with laughter.
"Not funny. Ya got my paint all dirty."
"But it's black, it shouldn't be a problem for Really Useful Engines," Dodger retorted, "let me go fetch your brake van."
Donald was not amussed, and complained to the other Little Western engines that evening.
"He is just' too silly. I wonder why did the Fat Contrroller decides to keep 'him there. He cause havoc."
"It's his way of work. Fun, coal, and trucks," Duck explained.
"Donna worry, Donal'. I'll take the next turn."
The next turn wasn't until a couple of weeks.
Dodger greeted Douglas, and he was so good, Douglas thought Donald was crazy, saying he caused havoc, when in fact he was careful.
"I'll be back in ten minutes. I've to take these down to the village," Dodger told him.
Fifteen minutes passed, but it gave Douglas peace, and time.
Whilst the hopper was loading, he was jerked forward.
That began the trucks' laughter, and soon it echoed through the village.
"My beautiful paint," Douglas cried.
"Just hurry up, and load the trucks," Dodger complained.
When Douglas left, he was dirtier than ever.
"Those trucks, and that hopper. It's just trouble," Douglas complained to Donald.
"I told ya, Douggie, and ya didn't believe me."
"At least now I know. The hard way."
The trouble with the trucks and hopper continued.
It was soon garunteed, that if you entered the Mines, you would not stay clean for long...
(Percy being covered with coal)
But in the end, the engines knew that Dodger was indeed being a Really Useful Engine. And that's what mattered.
