|Season 1, Episode 1|
|Air date||July 19th, 2013|
There is a small railway in Western England. And by small, it is small. The track is not 2 feet 3 inches but just 15 inches. There were three engines. Their names were Rex, Bert, and Mike. They lived and worked there, bringing trucks and passengers up and down the line.
But, as days passed, their line was getting less and less visitors.
"Do you ever fear?" began Bert, "that one day the Controller's going to come and say that we have to be scrapped because our line has closed."
"Sometimes, I do," Rex replied.
"Nah, we still have plenty of goods work," Mike replied.
"Really? Cause normally we'd be up by 7, and its 11, and our Drivers haven't even shown a foot," Rex replied.
"Oh, well, then, uh, well, they, need more sleep."
Bert and Rex just ignored him.
As Bert was fearing, there was less work.
In a week, they were only going out once for a job, and then calling it a day.
Another week, all seven days, only Rex went out for a quick errand and then returned home, calling it a day.
Tuesday of the next week, no one came out, and Wednesday, and Thursday.
Finally, on Friday, the Controller came to see them.
"I'm sorry. I tried everything I could."
"To what?" asked the Small engines, confused.
"To save the line from going bankrupt, its just that the decline of visitors for other greater beautiful lines, just made it impossible. Luckily, the Fat Controller, controller of the North Western Railway on the Island of Sodor bought you to work on a line your guage that has been awaiting engines."
"Will, will you be OK?" asked Bert.
"Yes, but I want you three to be more OK than I."
The three understood.
The next day, they were loaded onto flat-trucks and taken towards Sodor.
