Douglas' Lunar Eclipse
One day temperatures on Sodor are 10 degrees F. Luckily all steam engines have cozy fireboxes and their driver and fireman are warm within the fire. James has to take the Express and all the passengers quickly get into the heated coaches. Later, James helps Percy shunt coal cars. Runs another short train. And is now delivering logs to Tidmouth Sheds, so the fire can be built up and the engines can stay warm. But a blizzard starts right before James sets off. His snowplough is at his station. But some faulty points devirt him into a siding. Murdoch comes along and takes the logs. But James is stranded. His tender stayed on the rails, but James had jumped into something very icy and splashy. James' driver and firemen go away and promise to bring help first thing in the morning. Next morning Percy arrives with Rocky, a coach with workmen, The Truck with shovels, and a Breakvan. Workmen dig out James' tender and a figure right ahead. But the icy is solid, temperatures had dropped to -7 degrees. Soon, a muffled voice calls out. When James is at the SteamWorks, the workmen find layers of water and ice are in his boiler and his funnel has icicles. Percy laughs and Sir Topham Hatt assignes Douglas to do James' work meanwhile he's being mended.
