Gordon's Double Chimney
Tar is important to the roads on Sodor. The road usually relies on the engines to bring the tar to where it is needed. One day, Percy brought some TAR tankers to Tidmouth. He put them in a siding, and waited for the Fat Controller.
"Tomorrow, James will come and collect these TAR tankers. Make sure nobody moves them."
That evening, he announced at Tidmouth Sheds, "Those five TAR tankers must not be moved until tomorrow at 2.30 by James only."
"We know Percy", the other engines replied.
The next day, Percy carried on his normal shunting dutiies, always keeping a good eye of the TAR tankers.
"Ah", he sighed and closed his eyes.
He prepared a goods train for Flying Scotsman at two, when he realized..
"Where are the tankers?!", he gasped surprised. "Did you move them?"
"No. I've haven't gone near them."
"Then, there must be a thief then. I must find them."
He quickly pushed the trucks behind Flying Scotsman, and sped off.
"Gordon, did you move those TAR tankers?"
"Of course not. Trucks, tankers, totally undignified."
"Maybe, someone took them to Knapford", he thought
At Knapford he searched everywhere, but nothing.
"Oh no. I've lost those tankers, the Fat Controller will be cross."
Just then, Edward came down the line.
"Hullo, Percy. You look upset. What's the matter?"
"Ive lost the TAR tankers."
"Actually, Percy. There was a change of plans."
"What change of plans?"
"James was coming to collect the trucks after delivering some slate trucks to Brendam Docks, but damaged his funnel. I left with the TAR tankers to deliver them to Vicarstown."
"Now I understand. Thank you, Edward."
"That's alright Percy."
