”I don’t remember much from when we used to work on the MSR could you tell us the story?” “Alright” said duke and this is the story he told... duke was the first engine on the MSR stanley only arrived a few years after duke Albert then arrived one night at the sheds duke talked to albert “what is it with you new engines.... you spilled milk and wheat everywhere!” Said duke “not my fault“ said albert “its only my 40th accident this month” ”that’s exactly what stoner thought” said duke “who’s stoner?“ stanley And albert asked “stoner” replied duke ”was a reckless engine who was just like you stanley but painted green one day he was pulling a passenger train across the old iron bridge when he his crew and the passengers saw a bright light ahead stoner didn’t care and kept on going but then as he got closer he saw it was no ordinary lamp.... it was proteus the ghost of the narrow guage railway and he pushed stoner off the bridge he his crew and the passengers were never seen again legend says if you ride across the bridge after midnight you will here the screaming and the splash of a train plunging into the river below” ”rubish!” Replied albert “there is no such thing as ghosts!” The next day albert was to pull a gunpowder train to the quarry “be careful” said duke “one bump and you will be blasted to smithereens!“ “shut up” said albert and he quickly sped away “he’s going to get into trouble” sighed duke as albert raced along the line the vans thought of how to get back at albert then they had an idea they would bump albert and make him come off the rails when they neared the quarry the trucks bumped albert! And the chain reaction started duke was far away at the sheds but it almost shook the entire valley! A workman rushed up and said to duke “you must rush quickly! There has been an accident at the quarry” and duke hurried away with the crane duke soon arrived at the site and sighed “I warned him“ he said “but he didn’t listen” all the narrow guage engines were in horror “continue” said rusty “smudger and falcon had been bought to replace albert but soon it was too much so the controller bought jim tim jerry atlas alfred and bertram the controller realized they didn’t have enough attention so he bought a tank engine called andreas and put him on some boards saying “come to the Mid Sodor Railway! We have plenty of attractions so don’t be late!” Soon attraction boosted up and they even had enough money to get a tender engine called byron right after they boosted up they had a special contract from the north western railway to deliver a train of rails and sleepers to crovans gate which also included a week of incoming supply for the mid Sodor stanley of all engines was to take it halfway to crovans gate he derailed and the coupling broke the trucks rolled down to crovans gate too fast and derailed onto the standard guage line worse to come gordon was coming with the express gordon tried to brake but it was too late gordon crashed onto the rails and sleepers and fell onto his side ripping up some of the rails the coaches were able to stop before derailing but the MSR had lost a big contract And tourism dropped to 0 so the railway had to close luckily all the engines were able to get sent to the SKR including stuart who had arrived the day the railway closed.
