Life on the North Western Railway is the fourth episode of Delete the Mixed-Traffic Engine.
The accident was a major blow off for Delete. Delete at least. He thought it was his fault for the accident. Really it was the signalman's fault, as Delete HAD advised the Signalman that he wanted to go into a siding. In fact the workmen went to talk with the signalman.
Later, Delete was alone with Thomas and Percy. He said, "I feel terrible for the accident. Will the Fat Controller ever forgive me?", he asked.
"Of course he will", said Percy. "I can't tell you how many times I've had an accident and the Fat Controller sternly tells me to be more alert."
"Exactly", continued Thomas, "We all have mishaps but we never...."
(Diesel's Series Two theme plays)
"Get scrapped", finished Diesel, "But, you steamers are heading for your doom. Just so you know. Good bye."
"Don't listen to him", sympathized Thomas
"The Fat Controller isn't like, like, the British Railways, whom enjoy seeing us be ripped apart", finished Percy.
Henry had been nearby and had heard everything.
"It's life on the North Western Railway. We all have adventures, misadventures, mishaps and more. What's more, the Fat Controller may even be proud of you... somehow. But, it is all just life", explained Henry
Indeed they were right the Fat Controller forgave Delete. "I strangely am proud of you. Even though you overran the platforms, it is still a sign that you're learning. In fact, I want you to have a new coat of paint. Tomorrow, you will pick up some cans at Crovan's Gate SteamWorks, then bring it here, and you will recieve you coat of paint."
"Thank you, Sir!", Delete said. And Delete couldn't have felt happier.
