Plot

Henry was deeply saddened by the loss of his Welsh Coal. The Fat Controller sent him to the forest to haul logs to the Sodor Lumber Mill. Henry liked being at the Forest, but he just didn't have the strength to even smile. He was really too weak. The sight of Vicarstown made him even more sadder. One day the men had to prune some trees, which were getting too close to the line. Henry collected some coaches and trucks and was on the way. It was a while but the job was finished.

"Time to go back home, Henry", said his Driver. "And don't worry, the Fat Controller says he'll sort a way to get your Welsh Coal back."

"Yes", replied Henry, but he wasn't sure he would ever get his Welsh Coal back.

It started to rain on the way back. It was early February, so it was common, but rain didn't make it easier for Henry, his Driver and Fireman. It blinded them, and the rails were slippery. At last they came to Gordon's Hill.

"You know", said the Fireman. "I don't know how much punishment Henry could take. Or in other words, contact Edward, see if we can stay at Wellsworth."

"Good plan Mike", replied the Driver and he grabbed the Radio.

"Yes?", asked Edward's Fireman.

"Henry is struggling..", began the Driver.

"Do you need help? We'll be there in a while."

"No. Just. Can we stay at Wellsworth? I don't think Henry could make it even further than Wellsworth."

"Very well, lemme just tell Charlie... He agrees Ted. The shed has plenty of room."

"Well, Henry", said the Driver. "We're going to have climb the hill."

"We're staying at Wellsworth for the night.", added the Fireman.

"Very well", replied Henry.

The Fireman sanded the rails up to 20 meters behind. Since Henry didn't have enough energy, he would need more grip. Soon, they were ready. They also put sand in front of each carriage and truck, including the brake van.

"Ready, Henry?", asked the Driver.

"Yes!", replied Henry.

And they were off. The sand really did help, as Henry was able to make it to the top and back down again.

Once in the Shed. His Driver said, "Well Henry, you certainly did try your best."
