A Sad Night for Henry and the Flying Kipper
James and the Flying Scotsman
With Henry gone, James and Gordon had to split Henry's work.
"This isn't working", the Fat Controller told them one day.
"It isn't, Sir", replied Gordon. "We have to do Henry's dirty goods trains."
"Now I know the pain Henry goes through", complained James.
"I will have to see about borrowing an engine", the Fat Controller said and walked over to his office.
Later, the Fat Controller was talking on the telephone.
"What spare engines do you have available? What type. Mixed traffic. Really? OK. Send him to Barrow-in-Furness. I'll meet him tomorrow in the morning. Gordon will be pleased."
The next morning, the Fat Controller went to Tidmouth to board the Wild Nor Western. As Gordon approached Barrow-in-Furness, he caught the number 4472 on the cab of a green engine, then LNER on his tender.
"Right on time", said the other engine, waiting to take the Express.
Gordon was so busy chatting with the other engine, he didn't notice the green engine.
"I guess you can talk to him later", the Fat Controller said.
"That's alright, Sir. What am I going to do on Sodor?"
"You will be helping Henry. He had an accident and needs to be rebuilt at Crewe."
"I think I saw an engine towing him. Was he green with the number 3 and no railway makings?"
"Yes. Now, Tidmouth's a long way."
"Yes, Sir. I'll love a good chance to stretch my wheels."
As, he passed Kildane where James was waiting next to an electric engine, he zoomed by!
"Henry's back so quickly?"
Henry being back was at Tidmouth already.
"That can't be right", Percy said to Edward.
"If it isn't right, it isn't."
As the green engine steamed into Tidmouth.
Percy caught the name plaque reading 'Flying Scotsman', the 4472, and LNER.
"Henry got a new name, number, and railway", Percy gasped.
Edward rolled his eyes.
"No, my dear... No.6..."
"Percy's the name."
"Percy. I am not Henry, but a different engine."
"True Percy. This is the Flying Scotsman. One of the most famous engines on the LNER. He was built in 1923 not 1919."
"Oh. Well nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you both."
"Now", the Fat Controller announced. "Flying Scotsman is going to be helping whilst Henry is being rebuilt. I hope you make him feel welcome."
(After end credits)
"Oh. Sorry for that rumour."
"That's alright James."
