Jock the Runaway
Bumpy Roads and Rotten Rails
The Small Controller gathered his engines.
"Now, even with these recent incidents, the 'project' will still go on."
The engines were puzzled.
"That wasn't supposed to come out. Anyways, I feel the Small Railway needs a bit more extension. So, with courtesy of the Fat Controller, we will, during the next few months building an extension to Peel Godred, which will reopen stations on the Mid-Sodor Railway. It will connect at Kirk Machan and end at Peel Gordred. Mike will be returning from the Works tomorrow, so I'm sure you'll all work your hardest."
"Yes, Sir, but doesn't one of us have to stay and help passengers?" asked Rex.
"Yes, our young Jock will take care of that."
Douglas brought Mike the next day.
"Here ya go. Safe oun sound. Don't be all carrless like ya did last time, Mikie. Stay safe," and Douglas puffed away.
Mike was glad to be back.
"Well, with this extension, it means trucks, so I'm happy."
The Small Controller smiled, "I'm glad you're willing to help."
