Edward the 4-4-2 is the ninth and final episode of Season 1

Plot

Edward is an old engine. And one day he is sent to the NWR Engine Workshop. The workmen study him for a long time until finally they come to a decision. They tell him that he is going to be a 4-4-2. Edward not so impressed with the idea since he a 4-4-0 they will take off his cab and extend his footplate. Then they will add a pair off trainling wheels. 3 weeks later he is finished. After about 20 days, 10 days before he'll go back, Edward hasn't had trouble with his new shape. At the second to last station VIPs get on his coaches. They were going to stay at Edward Lake and Station Deluxe Hotel, a large hotel near Edward station which is close to a pond. About 100 feet from the station there's a bend. He makes the bend but the trailing wheels derail and so do his other wheels. His tender goes apart he falls into the lake and his tender and coaches bounce and make it to the station. Many glasses and hats were ruined so where the VIP's clothes. An angry man gives Edward's driver a 10,000 pound bill. The VIP's shout about there hats and 5 broken pairs of eye glasses. One claims that their daughter cannot see without her glasses. Soon Thomas comes with Sir Topham Hatt and soon they fish Edward out of the water and take him back.
