Edward the Back Engine
The winter of 1935 grew colder.
"4 degress and bound to get colder", Edward's Driver observed.
"Very true, Charlie. Lucky for us, we've have a nice fire here", his fireman said shoveling in some more coal.
Edward puffed up the line to Suddery.
Later, the engines packed into the sheds. It was very cold.
"This is co-co-colder than ever", shivered Percy.
"Flying Scotsman is stay-staying overnight at Barrow-in-Furness", Gordon said.
"Lucky for him. But re-remember, we must fight through", Edward reminded them.
"I hardly doubt you-you'd be able too", James said. "You are the oldest."
"Ze-zero de-degress", Edward's Fireman said. "If we had so-some coal, we co-could li-light up the fire place."
"I-I've co-co-coal", Edward said.
His Fireman wasted no time in lighting the fire. Gordon, Percy, and James' Firemans helped too. Soon, the fire was lit and the engines felt warmer.
"Well, you found a heating solution."
Thanks to Edward, the engines slept soundly and comfortbly.
