Diesel 10 is a large diesel who lives and works at the Dieselworks.

Bio

In Adventures on Rails, he arrived on Sodor around 1962 to help with construction of the Dieselworks and restoration of Vicarstown. He was allowed to stay, and usually spends most of his time at the Dieselworks cleaning up and keeping Den and Dart in order. He will play a role in the upcoming cliffhanger between the eighteenth and ninteenth seasons.

In Creator Collective Remade, Diesel 10 was moved to work at the Dump with Whiff and Scruff and banned from returning to the Dieselworks unless for important reasons like breaking down. Since then, he has had a major change of heart, gladly wanting to help others (including steam engines) and mostly leaving his villainous tendencies behind. However, he can still be annoyed quite easily.

Persona

Diesel 10 is an evil, conniving, bullying, and psychotic monster. He absolutely despises steam engines, and would call them taunting names like "puffball" and "teapot". He is Sodor's strongest but not quite largest Diesel, his power being enforced by his slightly malfunctioning claw, Pinchy. He can use this deftly, and is even able to use it to make a sculpture. All engines, steam and diesel alike, fear and respect him.

Despite his aggressiveness, he will help on occasion since Sir Topham Hatt brought him back, but only when it suits his personal interest. He can have a caring side, but he very rarely shows it.

In Creator Collective Remade, Diesel 10 is much more kind and considerate after being moved to the Dump, like when he gladly decided to help Frankie win back The Steelworks. He even works time to time with steam engines to stop Diesel’s plans.

In Thomas the Slender Engine

Diesel 10 inhabits Slendington (Dusk) with Brewster.

He is an enormous robot that retains his usual colors and Pinchy.

In Five Nights at Smudger‘s 4/World: Engines At War

Diesel 10 is an antagonist that is introduced on Night 4. He will attack from the window behind the player. They must throw Sugar at him until he disappears. The closer he is, the more sugar that needs to be thrown. If he gets too close and is not warded off, he will jumpscare the player by chomping Pinchy in their face.

  • According to The Real Lives of Thomas the Tank Engine, Diesel 10's hydraulic claw, Pinchy, is an illegal modification. Among other reasons, it makes him too tall for the British loading gauge.
  • In an original version of the Thomas and the Magic Railroad script, Pinchy was going to be concealed beneath Diesel 10's roof. This is kept in the book, Diesel 10 Means Trouble.
  • In Thomas the Slender Engine, Spencer pinned the blame on Diesel 10 for mutating the other engines.
