Updates as of August 2022

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is having a great summer or winter. I'm part of the former just trying to keep away from the heat but here we are with more updates for Adventures on Rails so let's begin.

  • First order of business is to re-cap July's episodes which were Special Holiday and Just Passing Through. The former should be familiar phrase from the TV adaptation of Bulgy. I had fun piecing this one together and honestly, Duck just fell into the role as the main character. So, if you're looking for a little break from everyday life, I definitely recommend this one. I also really liked the latter story because it goes into Jessie's early days on Sodor. I have done this in the past, and I really like exploring that aspect of Jessie's life …

Updates as of July 2022

It's summertime now which means it's the perfect time to go to the beach or something but also take a little break and write. At least that's what I think. So, here are the latest updates for Adventures on Rails.

  • In June, I had the pleasure of releasing three new stories which were Percy's New Dome, Percy and the Special Truck, and The Trouble with the Hay. As you can see, the stories were mainly focused on Thomas's Branch Line and Percy had significant roles in all three. Honestly, I feel like I don't often give him the spot-light all that often so it was nice to feature him. I was also glad to share a bit more about Jessie's early days on Sodor which I already did in Jessie and the Coaches not that long ago, and there's still more to come…

Updates as of June 2022

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well, safe and sound and such. It's now June and volume 4B is fully underway, so here's the monthly updates for Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, I'll re-cap last month's lot of stories as usual. Volume four is now on its second phase and it all started off with Thomas and the Storyteller which was a great chance to give Liza a major role. It really did end up focusing more on her, but I still used the original story as the basis for mine. Anyways, I know what you're thinking: Main, haven't you re-written almost half of series eleven now? That is partially intentional but it also just happened. It really just so happened that episodes from that series were ones I wanted to re-write. So don't be surpris…

Updates as of May 2022

I hope everyone is doing well. I have been fairly busy, but I am excited to get to writing and releasing more stories for Adventures on Rails. So, here are all the updates for this month.

  • In April, there was only one story released which was Edward and the Special Train. This story takes place during the events of "Off the Rails" though it has a different perspective. I hope you all enjoyed it. This story also concludes the first part of volume four which as I have mentioned, is a mix of various pending ideas, re-writes, and stories outside the usual time-frame of the series. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed writing all six of these, and it allowed me to successfully complete my schoolwork alongside my every day life activities. Though I still h…

Updates as of April 2022

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. I have been rather busy but I am still very excited for the rest of volume four so I'll get right to the updates.

  • Just a few days ago, I released The Bridge which was an episode that I had originally planned for volume three. However, I postponed it because I didn't have a solid idea. All I knew is that it would involve a bridge and that was it. Other ideas such as The Hose and Responsibilities came up and therefore, I shelved this one for a while. However, after I decided to split volume four into two parts, I figured this would be a great one and you see by now, I have a better idea of what the episode would be about. I thought it'd be fun to focus on the ever iconic Ffarquhar trio and trust …

Updates as of March 2022

It is the beginning of a new month with both springtime and Lent just around the corner, it's time for some updates regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • Last month, I released two new stories: Toby and the Whistling Woods and Ryan Helps Out. Originally, I wasn't planning on releasing two but it worked out in the end. Anyways, the former is a re-write that at some point I said I would cover. Since I'm a man of my word, I finally came through. I don't remember when I said it but it was said and I delivered. The story took a different route than what I expected. I thought it would have more humour and comedy, but it took more of an eerie and spooky vibe which is all right because it does stand out from the rest of my stories. As for the latter story…

Updates as of February 2022

We're now in February, so here are some updates regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • So far, there have been two stories released in volume four and they are As the Deer Longs and The Waiting. Both are simple concept stories but also entertaining enough to start off this year.
  • This month I will have two new stories, the first of which will be released this upcoming Sunday. It is an episode that at some point I said I would re-write and I am finally going to make it happen. The other upcoming story is one that takes place during a previous story of mine and as I get closer to the release date, I will give more details. Anyways, the release dates I have are the 6 and 27 of February, so those dates will see new stories. And with that, there will be o…

Updates and what's to come in 2022

Happy new year everyone! After a rather long 2021, we're now in 2022 and I have a bunch of stuff planned for Adventures on Rails this year.

  • Next Sunday will see the start of volume four. Honestly, it is with great pleasure that I have enoug ideas to cover the entire year. Volume IV will contain twenty-four stories and as I have explained before, it is split into two sections. The main difference is that productionwise, the first six stories will be written first, and also a lot of them are basically old ideas that I have, re-writes, and also flashback stories. I have already started writing these stories, and I'm very excited because I've had the ideas for a while, and now I am finally going to release them. Now, there is an underlying reas…

Updates as of December 2021

Hey everyone. We're made to December, the final stretch of the year, and there's still plenty to come from Adventures on Rails.

  • Last month, I released two new stories: Molly and the Empty Trucks and A Bad Lot of Coal. Both of these shifted the focus to the Vicarstown quartet as I like to call them. It was previously a trio with Molly, Dodger, and David but now Emily has joined the group. Anyways, they have a nice dynamic that I like exploring so both episodes have plenty of that. I hope you enjoyed them.
  • Now that it's December, there are just two more stories left. Currently, I am planning to release them on the 12th and 25th. The first one is actually a flashback story with some parts in the present day. It will also focus on Edward and Jam…

Updates as of November 2021

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. We're now a few days into November so I figured it's about time I gave the monthly updates, so let's begin.

  • In October, I released two new stories which were Last Day at the Steelworks and The Disused Siding. Both of them were rather dark in tone but it was October, and besides, one of the things I enjoyed about classic Thomas the Tank Engine was the variety of stories. I think series five demonstrated that brilliantly.
  • This November, I have two more stories. These will focus more on the Vicarstown quartet that I have created. By that I'm referring to Molly, Dodger, David, and Emily with the latter having joined the group at the end of volume two. Including Emily has changed the dynamic a bit so…

Updates as of October 2021

Hey everyone. At long last, it's October so we're in the final stretch of the year and man has it been long for me. Anyways, there's plenty of updates of what's to come in Adventures on Rails.

  • In September, there were two new stories; Jessie and the Diesel Engines and Responsibilities. The former was actually a story I wrote for a writing class a short while back. I had it planned for volume three but it doubled as a story for my class. As a result, it only features Jessie along with her sisters in East Moors Steelworks. However, it's the same style I use for the rest of my stories and it gives a little glimpse into Jessie's background. Furthermore, it will be continued as it is part of a whole saga that started last year with Jessie and th…

Updates as of September 2021

It's September now even though it still feels like August. Anyways, new month means new updates regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, as I usually do, I'll re-cap what was released last month. First was The Trouble with Ballast Trucks which gave some much needed spotlight to the Little Western crew. I won't lie, I don't often feature them however, this was a story idea that I was not going to pass up. The following week saw the release of Percy's New-Old Friends which is the original plan for introducing the Norramby Branch Line, Jinty, Pug, and the Kirk Ronan Branch Line (which I actually forgot about) into the series. Eventually, all these concepts became their own thing with the exception of the Kirk Ronan Branch (still in the works …

Updates as of August 2021

Hey everyone, it's August now. I hope everyone is enjoying this summertime or wintertime perhaps if you're in the southern hemisphere. Anyways, it's the beginning of the month, and I have lots of updates for Adventures on Rails, so let's get started.

  • In July, there were two new stories which are The Hose and The Queue. They both deal with water towers and focus on the Ffarquhar Branch and Main Line Engines respectively. There's plenty of humour and they're both light-hearted stories, so definitely check them out if you haven't.
  • Now, moving onto this month. My plan is to release two new stories and the abandoned concept for the Norramby Branch, Jinty, and Pug which I talked about a while back. Here's how it's going to work: there will be a ne…

Updates as of July 2021

Hey everyone. I hope everyone is well. As usual, here's the monthly updates for Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, I'll re-cap what was released last month. Well, two more stories were released. James and the Tar Wagons and Jessie and the Coaches were the stories released in June and at long last, Visiting Engines was released. As you know, volume three celebrates the tenth anniversary of the series, and the short is also part of the celebration. In fact, it was released precisely ten years after my first episode. Yeah, a lot has changed since then, and I'm glad to continue writing using the fantastic world and legacy that the Rev. Awdry created. That being said, everything I mentioned is now available, so check it out if you haven't and enjoy…

Updates as of June 2021

Hello everyone. I'm just here to give some updates and news on Adventures on Rails.

  • As usual, I'll begin by re-capping the stories that were released in May. Last month, there were three new stories after a brief break at the beginning. Thomas in Charge was the first story and it is actually the first of various consecutive releases. It was followed by Toby and the Lorries and then by The Milk and the Post. All three stories focus on Thomas's Branch Line, which I hadn't featured very much so far in volume three. Toby in particular got well deserved spot-light as well as Thomas and Percy. It's safe to say that there will be more Branch Line stories this year. I quite enjoy writing for the Ffarquhar trio so we shall definitely see more of the…

Updates as of May 2021

So here we are in May now and there's plenty to look forward to this month.

  • First off, the past two stories focused on yet another idea that I have floating around for a while and I finally wrote it out. Both Pilot Engines and Help Wanted focus on Pug, who comes to help out with the shunting at Tidmouth. Again, it's something I have wanted to do for a while and I finally had the chance to do it. I also hope that enjoyed both stories and there's a lot to come now that Pug is also based at the Big Station.
  • Before I move on, I want to take a moment and say that with the introduction of Pug, it concludes a triad of ideas that I came up with in late-2018 when I first contemplated going back to stand-along episodes again. This triad consists of Em…

Updates as of April 2021

Hey everyone, it's the second day of April, so it is time for the usual updates. I would have done it yesterday but honestly, I just forgot. I'm here now so here's all the news regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • I'll start by re-capping all the stories released in March. Change in the Air focused on Emily adapting to her new job on the Norramby Branch Line. The other two stories - Banker Engine and Edward and Jenna focused on the introduction of Jenna the 'Jinty' who comes to the railway to act as a banker engine for heavy trains going up Gordon's Hill. Like the Norramby Branch, introducing Jinty has been in the works for a long time. In the end, I settled with a different 'Jinty' from the one that came to Sodor whilst the engines went to Engla…

Updates as of March 2021

Hey everyone. It is now March, a new month, so I'm here to give all the latest news for Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, I'll go over the stories released in February. There was The Goods Train, an episode I had first thought of for volume two but postponed to volume three. In this one, James and David have a disagreement over which goods train to pull. There was also The Re-opening which shows the Arlesdale Railway opening after a short period of closure. Things don't go as smoothly as planned. They're both great stories to read through so I hope you enjoy them and as always, feedback is very much appreciated.

Updates as of February 2021

Hello everyone. Here are the usual monthly updates in regards to everything going on in Adventures on Rails.

  • Last month saw the release of two stories and the short, You Lucky Engine. Volume three started off with James and the Pipes and The Back of the Train. I hope you enjoyed both of them and check them out if you haven't. Both episodes tie into the events of the short so that's something interesting to look out for.
  • In this month of February, I have planned to release two new stories. As usual, releases will be on Sundays and the 14th will probably be the first story and then also the following week. It's subject to change though so just keep a look-out on the 14th for a new story. I don't have much to say about them except that one of t…

Updates and what's to come in 2021

Happy New year everyone! We're moving on and hoping to a good 2021. As for me, I have a lot planned for this year and I can't wait to share it with everyone. Here, I'll give a glimpse into what is coming in Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, I want to say that once again, it was a pleasure to write the stories for volume two. In the end, there were twenty-four stories featuring all sorts of incidents and all our favourite characters from the Island of Sodor. The December episodes were Christmas Help and Christmas at Norwich and I hope you enjoyed them both and just know, there's more to come.
  • Now, we can get into volume three. Currently, I have planned twenty-six stories since it is also ten years since I first started writing. Of course, I've …

Latest Updates on My Series

Hey everyone! First off, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Christmas season so far (and if you've been on the TTTE Wikia Discussion Page, you've been seeking refuge elsewhere after all the crazy spamming attacks that have happened lately on there 🙄😣😆). Secondly, just wanted to give you a minor update on my plans for the rest of the year regarding my series. I was trying to get at least two more stories in before 2021, but looks like at this point it'll just be the next one. I'll take a minor break after I post it, then I'll resume the rest of my second season next month, and might make a decision about a third season to my series...

Also, just out of curiosity, for those who read the "somewhat abbrevated" version, how do you all …

Updates as of December 2020

It's December now so we're in that final stretch of this crazy year. Its had its ups and downs but hopefully, we end it on a high note. Here's what is to come in Adventures on Rails.

  • As usual, I'll start off by re-capping last month's episodes. Molly's Idea and Emily's New Route were both released. This was part of a saga that establishes Emily running the Norramby Branch Line. I'd be lying if I said that this is the last we see of Emily and the Norramby Branch. I'm very keen to do more stories but that will have to wait until later.
  • This month, in the spirit of Advent and Christmas, both stories that will close up volume two will be just that, Christmas-themed. Some jolly stories to close up the year. One of which will be released this comi…

  • November will see two new episodes. The first of which I plan to release this Sunday if all goes well. I've decided to give it a fresh start meaning anything that happened in the original Adventures on Ra…

Updates and Future on TMAOTIOS

Hey everyone! Long time, no see. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this pandemic and you’re keeping yourselves entertained. Speaking of which, I feel like I should give a little update about how things are going for me and why I’ve been absent for pretty much the past month.

So, first off, I’m doing well. I’ve just been busy with work and haven’t had much time to write for my series lately. Secondly, the other reason I haven’t been writing much is because I lost a little interest in it due to finding out about the news about that dreadful, future reboot of the series and seeing the promo earlier this week (if you’ve seen some of my posts on the TTTE discussion page, you’ll see just how annoyed and frustrated I am about it). …

Updates as of October 2020

It's October now - the spookiest time of the year and it started early with that dreadful reboot. Anyways, here's what's coming up for Adventures on Rails.

  • As usual, I'll recap last month's stories. Both of them were re-writes from our beloved, yellow-tinted S11 (yes, I made fun of it before even if it doesn't bother me too much but it's true and I did colour-correct the images for the title cards). They were Thomas and the Lighthouse and Percy and the Left Luggage. I did change many things in both of them and hopefully, made something much better than the original which for me were kind of bland, but that's no problem for me.
  • Now, this month I only have plans to release one new story. We're now in the home stretch of volume two. The plan ri…

Updates as of September 2020

It's a new month, so here's some more announcements as to what is coming up for Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, a quick re-cap of last month. Two new stories were released namely, Quarantine at Ffarquhar and Jessie and the Old Engine. Feel free to check them out. I had fun writing both of these and I hope you enjoy them as well.
  • This month, there will be two new stories or I should say two re-writes. Honestly, I try to keep re-writes to a minimum and really reserve them for when I feel there's a story from the TV series that definitely deserves an adaptation. I usually try to make it so that there's significant improvement over the original. Sometimes there are episodes that I would change perhaps one small thing and in that case, I don't re…

Updates as of August 2020

Amazingly it's August now which means more new stories alongside college work which is quite fun at the moment actually because it involves writing. Anyways, here's the latest from me about Adventures on Rails and The New Adventures on Rails but before we begin, I want to congratulate Semaj5nodrog4 for he is now an admin on this site. Very well deserved if I do say so myself.

  • That being said, in July, there were two new episodes. Both of them were winter themed. They were Snow Rescue and it came to light after all: Edward's Brass Band. Yeah, for the latter, I was originally going to do it in place of Christmas with Friends at the end of last year. It would wrap up that arc of Thomas being on Edward's line but then the idea for Christmas wit…

Updates as of July 2020

We're now half-way through this year and yeah, it just seems like we have to push through it. In the meantime, here are some updates.

  • Last month, there were two new episodes: Barrier Wagons and Quarantine. Definitely check them out. The latter story is really there to cheer you up in a way. I had plenty of ideas of how to do a story which dealt with the engines during the pandemic and we might see it later on.
  • For this month, there is going to be two new stories. One of them will be Winter-themed and the other will be a Christmas story. I know its July, but still, Christmas is a time of joy and celebration, so why not, it'll lighten up your spirit. The first one will be released this Sunday as a matter of fact.

Hey everyone. I am back and ready to give some updates regarding Adventures on Rails, so let's get to it.

  • In May, we celebrated the seventy-fifth anniversary of The Railway Series. There were four stories released last month; Percy and the Mud, Gordon's Buffers, Trevor's Visit, and The Trouble with Sheep along with the short Best Engines Ever. I definitely want you all to check them out. I have a lot of 'behind the scenes' stuff I am preparing for the short 'cause there were a lot of ideas that were considered, many changes were made, so once I get everything organised, I will post a bit about the making of the short along with my inspiration and such. • Two new episodes were released last month. Easter at Harwick and Cliffhanger. I did have plans for one more but I couldn't finish it in time, so I am hoping to have it on Sunday.
  • I also want to say thanks to everyone who gave feedback for Taking Toby to the Works. I used this story for a writing class, and whilst I did get feedback from my classmates, I wanted more so I turned to you guys! I am also pleased to say that I did get an A. And yes, I am accepting donations. I'm kidding! Updates as of April 2020

This month, no announcements!

Well, not really. there are some things to talk about.

  • First off, two new episodes were released towards the end of March: New Livery and Daisy, Ryan, and the Cows. For the former, it features Molly, Dodger, and David with the latter two getting new coats of paint which leads to some trouble. The latter story feature the Harwick duo once again as they have to deal with cows that stray onto the line.
  • Now, new stories in this month, April. As usual, I can't say for certain when although I do have plans to release one on Easter which is on the twelfth. The thing is that I do have several ideas, and sometimes I have to choose which one to focus on. January's episodes were actually written back in December, then I fel…

  • As I mentioned, there was only going to be one episode in February which came at the eleventh hour really. Daisy and the Milk was released, so I hope you enjoyed that one. I still have various other ideas for the Harwick branch in the works.
  • So far, there have not been any new episodes but I am aiming for two episodes by the end of the month. I will say that it is taking me a bit longer since I have various ideas in the works and I don't always focus on just one. The episodes for January had actually been completed befo…

Updates as of February 2020

It is now February, so here's the latest news for Adventures on Rails.

  • To recap January, there were two new episodes: Taking Toby to the Works and Gordon's Last Run. Both were completed last year but the schedule was full, so they weren't released till January. I had a lot of fun on the former. Henry and James are always great to work with and it was great to see Toby and James as well. Then for the latter, it is something that I would have liked to see in the final Railway Series book and it's something I'm sure Christopher Awdry might have done with more time. In this case, it is Gordon no longer taking charge of the Express in favour of Pip and Emma as was done in Thomas and the Swan.

Updates and things to come in 2020

Happy new year everyone! I had a fun 2019 both here in this community and in life. It is also the start of new decade and I have to say it is very different from the past decade. Back in 2010, I had barely discovered the TTTE wikia. Fast forward to now, and I'm completely familiar with the wikia. My writing has also changed for the better. I had a lot of fun writing all twenty-six stories that were released last year and I hope to bring more this year. That being said, here's a bit about what's to come.

Hey everyone!!! It’s been a while since I last did one of these, but just here to give you an update on what I’ll be doing for the rest of this year and what to expect for the new one.

First off, since it’s the Christmas season and I have the urge to write a Christmas episode but can’t come up with any new ideas, I’ve decided to fully write out my canceled Christmas special from last year, Thomas’ Wonderful Life. Now technically, it won’t be a full write out because I won’t include character dialogue in the story because it’ll make the story longer and I’m trying to not make it boring and redundant, but I’ll at least expand the story so it won’t feel short and rushed like the blog I posted last year and include more detail to the scenes so y…

Updates as of December 2019

It's December now, Advent is here, Christmas is approaching and still lots more to come from Adventures on Rails!

  • First off, I'll re-cap what was released last month - several things actually. First off, Down at the Station which is an idea I've had for at least a year and finally decided to finish. I also had to because I am planning to include Liza in Best Engines Ever and now that she's been introduced and such, I can go ahead with that. Next, on the 11th, both the short Home Sweet Home and the episode Jessie and the Frozen Points were released. Then, there was Ryan and the Boats which was actually meant for release in September but wasn't quite finished, so I postponed it till November.
  • Just yesterday, I revised Thomas and the Avalanche …

Updates as of November 2019

It's November now and time for some the monthly update regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, Halloween has passed, so I hope you all enjoyed that day. The Monster of Brendam was released yesterday although I meant to release a couple days ago, but the delay was completely out of my hands. Still, I'm glad I was able to release it in time. It is a re-write of Percy and the Monster of Brendam which is by far on the worst episodes of series sixteen, but worry not - I made it better as usual. Like I've said before, I don't want to do a lot of re-writes as stand-alone episodes. However, there are some good things about doing re-writes; they are a good exercise, but I will balance it between original ideas. Anyways, last month also saw the rele…

Updates as of October 2019

It's October now, so time for the monthly updates!

  • First off, a new episode was released earlier today titled Motivation which features at long last - the Skarloey Railway. I'll just say that for some reason, I have more difficulty coming up with story ideas featuring the narrow-gauge engines, so I am proud of myself for being able to come up with this one and another episode which will be released later this month. That's two episodes that will feature the Skarloey Railway, so look out for that.
  • There were some delays with the episodes for September. I did release two episodes but of these was not meant to be released - namely, The Trouble with the Enthusiasts. Coal Strike was released as scheduled so that was great. I shan't say the name o…

Updates as of September 2019

It's September now, so time for some Adventures on Rails updates.

  • Last month, there were three new episodes released which were Too Many Trucks, Saving Edward re-write, and Nose-diving. Feel free to check them out and all feedback is welcome.
  • Now, moving on to upcoming episodes, I'll go over the planned schedule for September and October. This month should see two new episodes. For the past three months, I've released an episode the first day of the month, but that won't be the case today. Both episodes will be released in like the second/third week. In October, there will be at least two new episodes, and maybe a re-write. Both new episodes for October actually feature the Skarloey Railway and needless to say, it's been forever since I've g…

Updates as of August 2019

Here's the monthly news and updates for Adventures on Rails.

  • In July, High Tide and Blown Away were released. Both deal with adverse weather on the Little Western and feature the likes of Duck, Oliver, and Skiff. I kind of consider them a double-header because they have similar concepts. For now, there won't be a third part dealing with the aftermath of the storm, but I won't completely rule it out. Another reason is that I've other ideas that I want to focus on.
  • Today, Too Many Trucks was released which is based off a real-life incident which I'd been wanting to use for a while, and I finally got the chance to use it. It features Jessie and a bit of her life at East Moors Steelworks.
  • This month, I guarantee two episodes. One of them is origi…

Updates as of July 2019

Hey everyone, here for the monthly updates as usual.

  • First off, the revised version of the short James and Percy has been released! It was the first short ever, and a lot of fun back in 2014 when I first wrote it, but since I've changed a lot of things, including my writing style, character base, and certain standards, I felt it needed a revision. Around late 2017 is when I first considered it, but then, during development of That's What Friends Are for and the idea of introducing Jessie, things changed and I decided to hold off on it. Finally, after I the release of Real Engines, officially establishing the characters of Adventures on Rails, I finally knew it was time, and so long behold, it's here. All feedback is welcome and the original…
