Two Unusual Railways
(bright, cheerful, victorious music plays)
The Small engines worked through the winter months when there was not much passengers on the extension, and in the April of 1981, the extension was, almost finished.
The sheds for the Small engines at Peel Godred was almost finished.
Rex was excited.
"There's going to be a grand celebration of the opening day," he was telling Jeff.
"I'll looking foward to that."
"So are we. The engines on the Little Western are too."
The workmen worked hard all day.
Rex never got tired of bringing supplies and the workmen, even though his wheels ached.
"Almost," beamed Rex proudly.
Finally on the 14th, the sheds were finished.
"Job done! Job done!" Rex cheered and whistled.
"Well done," said Jeff as Rex puffed home.
Rex could hardly wait for the opening ceremony.
"Sir, I think Jock should take the first train. He has been handling ballast lately, and has done a good job," Rex told the Small Controller.
"Are you sure? That was your job."
"I'm sure. I'm tired off my wheels on this construction."
"Very well, then. I'll arrange it right away."
The opening day would be on the 16th of April.
