March 2024 updates

Hello everyone. It's now March which a big month. New stories, birthdays, and Easter all in 31 days. I have a fair share of announcements for Adventures on Rails, so let's get started.

  • First off, this week is rather busy as I released both Oliver and the Big Engines and a re-write of A Surprise for Percy. The latter was to commemorate the leap day this year. I've gone into a habit of doing something on these leap days so I figured, why not continue with it? This turned out to be an extra story which means that volume six's episode count has been increased.
  • This brings me to my next announcement. Volume six will now have twenty-eight stories. Both A Surprise for Percy and Territory were ideas I had developed and considered for volume six but …

February 2024 updates

Hello everyone. January is past and we're jumping straight into February. And not just any February, a leap year February. Well, I've a handful of updates for Adventures on Rails, so let's begin.

  • First off, January saw the release of James and the Trouble with the Snow and Jinxed. Both stories I thoroughly enjoyed writing so I hope you all enjoyed them.
  • For now, I only have one story planned this month which will be Oliver and the Big Engines. Basically, it will be a re-collection of the events of "Resource and Sagacity" but through Duck's perspective. I'm not sure when I thought of this idea but I really liked the idea of basically just having a different character's perspective and soon, you'll see it for yourself.
  • I may prepare something f…

January 2024 updates

Happy New Year everyone! 2023 for me was a rollercoaster with thrills and surprises each and every day. I'm not exactly sure what 2024 will bring but I do know that I have plenty of new content that I will reveal very shortly.

  • All right, so volume five concluded with Silent Night and The First Nowell. The former idea I had originally conceived for the Culdee Fell Railway but I re-worked it to fit in the Arlesdale Railway. The latter story took us back to the Kirk Ronan Branch Line and thus provided a conclusion to the entire railtour saga that took up a bulk of the year. And not to worry for Cathy and Deborah will continue to have roles in this upcoming year.
  • Now, volume five was definitely continuity-heavy. More than half the year is interc…

December 2023 updates

We've reached December which means the holidays are coming up and man does it get exciting. As for me, yes, I'm looking forward to Christmas, and giving you all an update on the latest Adventures on Rails news.

  • So, November turned out to be a busy month with lots of new content. First, Henry's Rest Cure which took us back to the railtour saga at the beginning of the year. Next was the big release of Which Engine Knows Best? which I finally completed and is now up for you to peruse at your leisure. Then, its companion episode While You were Away was released since it takes place during and after the events of the short. As I envisioned it, it was kind of a reflection of the past short in a way. Finally, I released some behind the scenes of t…

November 2023 updates

Hello everyone. It's November now and even though it's late here in San Diego on the 1st, I figured I may as well do the updates now so let's get to it. There's a lot to talk about.

  • First off, the last two stories released were Thomas and the Headlands and Henry and the Standing Stones. Each of them were concepts that I really wanted to do and I'm glad I got the chance to do so. I can't stop insisting on how drastically different the latter story is to the rest of the series. Not that it's completely unrecognisable from my writing but it went a direction that I never expected to go. However, I kept it because I like the concept of good versus evil and that good always triumphs.
  • This month will have two new stories and the long-awaited short.…

October 2023 updates

Hello everyone! It's that time of the year again. All the holidays are coming up fast so it's just one after another. Anyways, we're in the final stretch of Adventures on Rails - volume five, but there's plenty to look forward to. Here we go!

  • In September, I did a three-parter on Thomas's Branch Line with the episodes The Trouble with the Tar Wagons, Detour, and Thomas's Shortcut. I actually managed to finish this arc before I left for Portugal along with the short. The most notable change afterwards was the title for "Detour" which was a bit different. Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed writing these stories and I hope you enjoyed them.
  • For this October, I have two new stories planned. The first one, "Thomas and the Headlands" will be a sequel o…

September 2023 updates

I'm back and better than ever before! I can't wait to resume Adventures on Rails - volume five so here's an updates on what's to come.

  • The next story will be released tomorrow titled The Trouble with the Tar Wagons]] which will feature elements from a few familiar episodes. This will kickstart one of those mini-arcs as I like to call them. The next two stories, Detour and a re-write of Thomas's Shortcut will follow. So yes, we're back to basics and back on Thomas's Branch Line. I mean, it should've been rather obvious that at some point there'd be some Branch Line stories. I had fun writing these stories so I hope you will all enjoy them.
  • I'm also hoping to release a trailer of sorts for Which Engine Knows Best? in the upcoming weeks. My goal…

July 2023 updates

Hello everyone. I'm back to give you a rather lengthy amount of updates regarding The New Adventures on Rails, so let's get to it.

  • First off, I'll give a re-cap of the last few episodes as usual. The last two episodes were a departure from the big railtour saga which took up most of the first half of volume five. Railhead and Jessie's Find saw the return of these nice, quaint, slice-of-life stories that I and I'm sure many of you enjoy. We also saw the return of Old Slow Coach to the series. She's a character I'm quite fond of so I'm glad to have her back and I will definitely look to give her more roles in the upcoming stories.
  • Now, I have three stories left before I depart for Portugal and all of these focus on characters that don't always…

June 2023 update

Hello everyone! Happy June which means that summer is on the way for me. Sure, it's been grey and cloudy in the last few days but I'm still excited for summer and for all the new stories coming out in the next two months. So, without further ado, let's get into the latest news from Adventures on Rails.

  • All right, so in the past month of May we closed off this big story arc in the first half of volume five with Take Five where we closed off the Kirk Ronan saga and Respect for Gordon which pretty much tied everything together and brought it to a close. This has certainly been the biggest story arc I've ever done and never imagined it would include so much. Sometimes, I don't even remember how I managed to put all this together. Regardless, it…

May 2023 update

Hello everyone! April just flew by and I totally forgot about the monthly updates. I guess that's life, huh? Anyways, I'm still active here and plenty of news to catch up on so here's the latest from Adventures on Rails.

  • So, as I had planned, starting on Easter Sunday, three new stories were releasing in the following weeks which were A Better View for Gordon which kickstarted the Kirk Ronan saga featuring new friends Cathy and Deborah. The episodes following were Trial and Error and just recently Catch of the Day. I am very pleased with how this worked out. I had originally planned for another episode featuring Gordon on the Kirk Ronan Branch Line, but after some thought, I decided I should really use these episodes to showcase the new cha…

March 2023 update

Hello everyone. It's probably the coldest start to the March that I've seen in semi-lengthy life but still here I am to bring all the latest Adventures on Rails updates, so let's get to it!

  • I'll start by re-capping last month's stories which included Museum Visit and Maintenance. Both stories were very fun to write so I hope you enjoyed them. I particularly liked giving both Diesel and Paxton a starring role in the latter. On the other hand, I finally had the chance to include Tornado in the series. I really don't know why, but I really wanted to feature her, so I'm glad I was able to do it during Gordon's railtour after my original plan for Visiting Engines fell through. As always, there's a time and place for everything, so I did get to d…

February 2023 update

Hello everyone. We've moved on from a seemingly long month to the shortest month of the year which looks to be very busy for me. Therefore, time for an update on what's come from Adventures on Rails.

  • In January, I released three stories which were The Job, Railway Ties, and The Loop. These give us an insight on the progress of both the restoration of the Kirk Ronan Branch Line and Gordon's railtour. I did a fair amount of research on routes that the railtour would take and when I came across the location featured in The Loop, I just knew I had to make a story of that. In the end, that is what caused a slight shuffle in the release schedule. Two other stories were dropped in favour on this one and one due for release in November. That way, I …

January 2023 update

Happy New Year everyone! 2022 was full of twists and turns but I'm very much looking forward to 2023 which seems to have a lot in store. That being said, here's all the latest news for Adventures on Rails. I've a lot to say so let's get started.

  • First off, volume five is officially on the way. I plan to release twenty-six stories throughout the course of the year. Originally, I wanted to start it on 15 January however, I am going to be busy that day, so I'm sure if I'll have the time to release anything. Sundays can be very busy for me and I end up with only a couple hours to spare. Therefore, in order to alleviate any extra work, I will be starting volume five on Saturday 14 January. Yes, you read that right, the first story will be releas…

Updates as of December 2022

Hello everyone. We're now in the final stretch of 2022 which has certainly been a wild ride. So, let's keep moving forward and see what else awaits from Adventures on Rails.

  • In November, I released Percy and the Level crossings and Daisy and the Carollers. I think that with the reveal of Percy's Gauge 1 model, it was more than appropriate to have many Percy stories this year. He's certainly a fun character to write for. The following story was actually an idea I had for volume two but I just didn't get around to it. If I remember correctly, the expansion of the Norramby Branch Line is what caused that story to be shelved, but not anymore! I released it this past Sunday which seems a bit too early for Christmas, but again, I have to get a he…

Updates as of November 2022

It's November now which means we're in the final stretch of the year. That being said, it's time for the monthly updates on Adventures on Rails.

  • In October, I had two more mysterious/spooky stories which were Hidden at the Headlands and The Lonely Brakevan. I quite enjoyed writing these. I'm not particularly good at writing in this genre but I was satisfied with these two stories. The first of which was completely different from what I intended. I had planned to title it "The Curse of the Cliffs" which is mentioned in the series nine episode "Bold and Brave". However, I wrote the entire episode and then realised I forgot to include any sort of mentioned towards the title. I tried adding it in but it just seemed forced so I went with a diffe…

Updates as of October 2022

Well, well, well, we meet again, but it was rather obvious, wasn't it? You know, beginning of the month so along comes all the latest news on Adventures on Rails. Yeah, all right, let's get started.

  • As usual, I'll give a brief run down of September. Two new stories were released: Popstar and The Rain Trials. I thoroughly enjoyed writing both. The former features the Skarloey Railway Engines, at last some might say. The latter puts a well deserved spot-light on Jenna. I'll be honest, at first I wasn't sure how the story would play out but the pieces just fell into place little by little and it ended up being one of favourites of the year so far. Definitely check it out.
  • Now, since it is October, and Halloween is near and all that. I guess it …

Updates as of September 2022

Hello everyone. I'm back with the usual monthly updates regarding Adventures on Rails. There's a lot to cover, so let's get into it.

  • First of all, there's the recap of last month's stories which are Coughs and Sneezes and Time for a Story. Both of them take place at the very end of Edward's Branch Line and as a result, feature the likes of Bill, Ben, Marion, Salty, and Cranky - all of which I feature as much as you might think. I will admit though, I had a blast writing for all of them especially Marion - I just remembered that she's literally one of my favourite characters from the Brenner era but also overall. If anything, whenever I do feature these characters it's bound to be a good one, so I hope you enjoyed these two stories.
  • If you've…

Updates as of August 2022

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is having a great summer or winter. I'm part of the former just trying to keep away from the heat but here we are with more updates for Adventures on Rails so let's begin.

  • First order of business is to re-cap July's episodes which were Special Holiday and Just Passing Through. The former should be familiar phrase from the TV adaptation of Bulgy. I had fun piecing this one together and honestly, Duck just fell into the role as the main character. So, if you're looking for a little break from everyday life, I definitely recommend this one. I also really liked the latter story because it goes into Jessie's early days on Sodor. I have done this in the past, and I really like exploring that aspect of Jessie's life …

It's summertime now which means it's the perfect time to go to the beach or something but also take a little break and write. At least that's what I think. So, here are the latest updates for Adventures on Rails.

  • In June, I had the pleasure of releasing three new stories which were Percy's New Dome, Percy and the Special Truck, and The Trouble with the Hay. As you can see, the stories were mainly focused on Thomas's Branch Line and Percy had significant roles in all three. Honestly, I feel like I don't often give him the spot-light all that often so it was nice to feature him. I was also glad to share a bit more about Jessie's early days on Sodor which I already did in Jessie and the Coaches not that long ago, and there's still more to come…

Updates as of June 2022

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well, safe and sound and such. It's now June and volume 4B is fully underway, so here's the monthly updates for Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, I'll re-cap last month's lot of stories as usual. Volume four is now on its second phase and it all started off with Thomas and the Storyteller which was a great chance to give Liza a major role. It really did end up focusing more on her, but I still used the original story as the basis for mine. Anyways, I know what you're thinking: Main, haven't you re-written almost half of series eleven now? That is partially intentional but it also just happened. It really just so happened that episodes from that series were ones I wanted to re-write. So don't be surpris…

I hope everyone is doing well. I have been fairly busy, but I am excited to get to writing and releasing more stories for Adventures on Rails. So, here are all the updates for this month.

  • In April, there was only one story released which was Edward and the Special Train. This story takes place during the events of "Off the Rails" though it has a different perspective. I hope you all enjoyed it. This story also concludes the first part of volume four which as I have mentioned, is a mix of various pending ideas, re-writes, and stories outside the usual time-frame of the series. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed writing all six of these, and it allowed me to successfully complete my schoolwork alongside my every day life activities. Though I still h…

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. I have been rather busy but I am still very excited for the rest of volume four so I'll get right to the updates.

  • Just a few days ago, I released The Bridge which was an episode that I had originally planned for volume three. However, I postponed it because I didn't have a solid idea. All I knew is that it would involve a bridge and that was it. Other ideas such as The Hose and Responsibilities came up and therefore, I shelved this one for a while. However, after I decided to split volume four into two parts, I figured this would be a great one and you see by now, I have a better idea of what the episode would be about. I thought it'd be fun to focus on the ever iconic Ffarquhar trio and trust …

Updates as of March 2022

It is the beginning of a new month with both springtime and Lent just around the corner, it's time for some updates regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • Last month, I released two new stories: Toby and the Whistling Woods and Ryan Helps Out. Originally, I wasn't planning on releasing two but it worked out in the end. Anyways, the former is a re-write that at some point I said I would cover. Since I'm a man of my word, I finally came through. I don't remember when I said it but it was said and I delivered. The story took a different route than what I expected. I thought it would have more humour and comedy, but it took more of an eerie and spooky vibe which is all right because it does stand out from the rest of my stories. As for the latter story…

We're now in February, so here are some updates regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • So far, there have been two stories released in volume four and they are As the Deer Longs and The Waiting. Both are simple concept stories but also entertaining enough to start off this year.
  • This month I will have two new stories, the first of which will be released this upcoming Sunday. It is an episode that at some point I said I would re-write and I am finally going to make it happen. The other upcoming story is one that takes place during a previous story of mine and as I get closer to the release date, I will give more details. Updates and what's to come in 2022

Happy new year everyone! After a rather long 2021, we're now in 2022 and I have a bunch of stuff planned for Adventures on Rails this year.

  • Next Sunday will see the start of volume four. Honestly, it is with great pleasure that I have enoug ideas to cover the entire year. Volume IV will contain twenty-four stories and as I have explained before, it is split into two sections. The main difference is that productionwise, the first six stories will be written first, and also a lot of them are basically old ideas that I have, re-writes, and also flashback stories. I have already started writing these stories, and I'm very excited because I've had the ideas for a while, and now I am finally going to release them. Now, there is an underlying reas…

Updates as of December 2021

Hey everyone. We're made to December, the final stretch of the year, and there's still plenty to come from Adventures on Rails.

  • Last month, I released two new stories: Molly and the Empty Trucks and A Bad Lot of Coal. Both of these shifted the focus to the Vicarstown quartet as I like to call them. It was previously a trio with Molly, Dodger, and David but now Emily has joined the group. Anyways, they have a nice dynamic that I like exploring so both episodes have plenty of that. I hope you enjoyed them.
  • Now that it's December, there are just two more stories left. Currently, I am planning to release them on the 12th and 25th. The first one is actually a flashback story with some parts in the present day. It will also focus on Edward and Jam…

Updates as of November 2021

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. We're now a few days into November so I figured it's about time I gave the monthly updates, so let's begin.

  • In October, I released two new stories which were Last Day at the Steelworks and The Disused Siding. Both of them were rather dark in tone but it was October, and besides, one of the things I enjoyed about classic Thomas the Tank Engine was the variety of stories. I think series five demonstrated that brilliantly.
  • This November, I have two more stories. These will focus more on the Vicarstown quartet that I have created. By that I'm referring to Molly, Dodger, David, and Emily with the latter having joined the group at the end of volume two. Including Emily has changed the dynamic a bit so…

  • In September, there were two new stories; Jessie and the Diesel Engines and Responsibilities. The former was actually a story I wrote for a writing class a short while back. I had it planned for volume three but it doubled as a story for my class. As a result, it only features Jessie along with her sisters in East Moors Steelworks. However, it's the same style I use for the rest of my stories and it gives a little glimpse into Jessie's background. It's September now even though it still feels like August. Anyways, new month means new updates regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, as I usually do, I'll re-cap what was released last month. First was The Trouble with Ballast Trucks which gave some much needed spotlight to the Little Western crew. I won't lie, I don't often feature them however, this was a story idea that I was not going to pass up. The following week saw the release of Percy's New-Old Friends which is the original plan for introducing the Norramby Branch Line, Jinty, Pug, and the Kirk Ronan Branch Line (which I actually forgot about) into the series. Hey everyone, it's August now. I hope everyone is enjoying this summertime or wintertime perhaps if you're in the southern hemisphere. Anyways, it's the beginning of the month, and I have lots of updates for Adventures on Rails, so let's get started.

  • In July, there were two new stories which are The Hose and The Queue. They both deal with water towers and focus on the Ffarquhar Branch and Main Line Engines respectively. There's plenty of humour and they're both light-hearted stories, so definitely check them out if you haven't.

James and the Tar Wagons and Jessie and the Coaches were the stories released in June and at long last, Visiting Engines was released. As you know, volume three celebrates the tenth anniversary of the series, and the short is also part of the celebration. In fact, it was released precisely ten years after my first episode. Thomas in Charge was the first story and it is actually the first of various consecutive releases. It was followed by Toby and the Lorries and then by The Milk and the Post. All three stories focus on Thomas's Branch Line, which I hadn't featured very much so far in volume three. Toby in particular got well deserved spot-light as well as Thomas and Percy. Updates as of May 2021

So here we are in May now and there's plenty to look forward to this month.

  • First off, the past two stories focused on yet another idea that I have floating around for a while and I finally wrote it out. Both Pilot Engines and Help Wanted focus on Pug, who comes to help out with the shunting at Tidmouth. Again, it's something I have wanted to do for a while and I finally had the chance to do it. I also hope that enjoyed both stories and there's a lot to come now that Pug is also based at the Big Station.
  • Before I move on, I want to take a moment and say that with the introduction of Pug, it concludes a triad of ideas that I came up with in late-2018 when I first contemplated going back to stand-along episodes again. This triad consists of Em…

Hey everyone, it's the second day of April, so it is time for the usual updates. I would have done it yesterday but honestly, I just forgot. I'm here now so here's all the news regarding Adventures on Rails.

  • I'll start by re-capping all the stories released in March. Change in the Air focused on Emily adapting to her new job on the Norramby Branch Line. The other two stories - Banker Engine and Edward and Jenna focused on the introduction of Jenna the 'Jinty' who comes to the railway to act as a banker engine for heavy trains going up Gordon's Hill. Like the Norramby Branch, introducing Jinty has been in the works for a long time. In the end, I settled with a different 'Jinty' from the one that came to Sodor whilst the engines went to Engla…

In this one, James and David have a disagreement over which goods train to pull. There was also The Re-opening which shows the Arlesdale Railway opening after a short period of closure. Things don't go as smoothly as planned. They're both great stories to read through so I hope you enjoy them and as always, feedback is very much appreciated.

Updates and what's to come in 2021

Happy New year everyone! We're moving on and hoping to a good 2021. As for me, I have a lot planned for this year and I can't wait to share it with everyone. Here, I'll give a glimpse into what is coming in Adventures on Rails.

  • First off, I want to say that once again, it was a pleasure to write the stories for volume two. In the end, there were twenty-four stories featuring all sorts of incidents and all our favourite characters from the Island of Sodor. The December episodes were Christmas Help and Christmas at Norwich and I hope you enjoyed them both and just know, there's more to come.
  • Now, we can get into volume three. Currently, I have planned twenty-six stories since it is also ten years since I first started writing. Of course, I've …

Latest Updates on My Series

Hey everyone! First off, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Christmas season so far (and if you've been on the TTTE Wikia Discussion Page, you've been seeking refuge elsewhere after all the crazy spamming attacks that have happened lately on there 🙄😣😆). Secondly, just wanted to give you a minor update on my plans for the rest of the year regarding my series. I was trying to get at least two more stories in before 2021, but looks like at this point it'll just be the next one. I'll take a minor break after I post it, then I'll resume the rest of my second season next month, and might make a decision about a third season to my series...

Also, just out of curiosity, for those who read the "somewhat abbrevated" version, how do you all …

Updates as of December 2020

It's December now so we're in that final stretch of this crazy year. Its had its ups and downs but hopefully, we end it on a high note. Here's what is to come in Adventures on Rails.

  • As usual, I'll start off by re-capping last month's episodes. Molly's Idea and Emily's New Route were both released. This was part of a saga that establishes Emily running the Norramby Branch Line. I'd be lying if I said that this is the last we see of Emily and the Norramby Branch. I'm very keen to do more stories but that will have to wait until later.
  • This month, in the spirit of Advent and Christmas, both stories that will close up volume two will be just that, Christmas-themed. Some jolly stories to close up the year. One of which will be released this comi…

Updates as of November 2020

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is well as we get closer and closer to the end of the year. As usual, I'm here to bring the latest news on Adventures on Rails so let's get started.

  • Last month only had one new story which was Duck, Henry and the Tenders. Still, I hope you enjoyed since it does have some good humour and banter between Henry and Duck, so check it out if you haven't and as always, I appreciate any feedback you might have.
  • November will see two new episodes. The first of which I plan to release this Sunday if all goes well. I am quite excited for these two stories since it will focus on the re-opening of the Norramby Branch Line. I've decided to give it a fresh start meaning anything that happened in the original Adventures on Ra…

Updates and Future on TMAOTIOS

Hey everyone! Long time, no see. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this pandemic and you’re keeping yourselves entertained. Speaking of which, I feel like I should give a little update about how things are going for me and why I’ve been absent for pretty much the past month.

So, first off, I’m doing well. I’ve just been busy with work and haven’t had much time to write for my series lately. Secondly, the other reason I haven’t been writing much is because I lost a little interest in it due to finding out about the news about that dreadful, future reboot of the series and seeing the promo earlier this week (if you’ve seen some of my posts on the TTTE discussion page, you’ll see just how annoyed and frustrated I am about it). …
